ABOUT US
Leading public and private markets with quantitative investment processes.

Spatium Capital is a multi-award winning and independently owned, boutique funds management firm. Founded by Nick Quinn and Jesse Moors, Spatium specialises in applying quantitative investment solutions to both public and private markets.
First conceived in 2013, we set out to design and build a market-neutral strategy that would regularly quantify listed equities that are suffering from excessive greed (thereby shorting them) and those that are being treated with unnecessary fear (investing long-on these companies). With the market nuances in Australia shifting away from market-neutral strategies, we focussed attention on the long-only quantitative investment solution and launched a separately managed account in 2018. By 2020, we transformed the structure (known as the Spatium Small Companies Fund) into an unregistered wholesale managed fund. We are now also the investment manager for the Spatium x IIF Agricultural Production Fund; a one-of-a-kind wholesale investment that co-invests alongside farmers, on an equity basis, in the direct production of livestock, horticulture, aquaculture and broadacre.
As the Firm has grown in recognition and our longevity in market continues, our individual and business relationships have expanded equally. Supported by best-in-practice service, regulatory, legal and licencing providers, Spatium Capital has been able to cultivate strategic and mutually-beneficial relationships across other asset classes, industries and geographies.
KEY DIFFERENTIATORS
LIQUIDITY COMMITTED
Irrespective of the asset class or segment, Spatium Capital looks to prioritise liquidity in each responsible portfolio, without sitting on significant cash reserves that can create a drag on performance. Where possible, Spatium prioritises a near fully-invested approach whilst still enabling agile decision-making when new investment opportunities arise.
PROCESS DRIVEN
Quantitative investment process are often anchored in robust data analysis and minimisation of human-centred (emotional) decision making. Spatium Capital believes operating a repeatable and emotionless approach mitigates the risk of bias or error and results in a greater consistency of outcomes.
INVESTOR-CENTRED APPROACH
Investors are flux with options for investment that even when provided by different firms, are often highly-correlated given the propensity for many investment professionals to view markets similarly and therefore reflect that in their responsible portfolios. Spatium Capital prides itself in being different, with products and partnerships that continue to uphold that ethos to investors needs.
